Well, I just got back...what an awesome path! Started at 9am, lots of shade, nice clean path, and an excellent breeze...I will be going back and I Highly recommend this ride! Thank You all for your input/help! :)
The path from apopka all the way into clermont is paved. There are off shoots to the trail that are unpaved, sandy or gravel. The main path does cross many roads but almost all views are unobstructed and there are long stretches with no crossings of roads. You will not need to ride on the road between these 2 cities
Yes it is paved and wide enough in most for two way walkers, skaters and riders. Yes there crossings in its path but traffic signs and lights also. To me it is safe if you obey usual traffic laws and remember the right of way.
There are sections where an unpaved equestrian trail is alongside the paved multi-use trail, but yes there is a continuous separated paved trail from Apopka to Clermont. Some sections in Apopka are directly alongside the road, but most are at least 6 feet away from a road and much of it doesn't parallel a road at all.
