Hi Eugenio, The kitchen was used to feed the Mission's community. The Soldiers Barracks housed the Soldado de cuera (leather jacket soldiers). The dormitory housed the women. The Padres' quarters include their sitting room, living room, dining room and bedroom. You can learn more about Mission San Juan Capistrano and our history by planning a visit and experiencing our free audio tour. We also offer educational resources for 4th grade students working on their Mission report. Dear Eugenio, this is where the Padres, their soldiers who guarded them, and all the Native workers lived. It is called their living quarters. They had a farm with animals and grew crops. There were no supermarkets so they had to grow, cook and store their food.
