Not really because there is no way to keep people out, it's not fenced.... Because of this, there is a high population of homeless people that sleep here and bathe in the little Creek. "closing" the park is more of a safety precaution.
Yes, but in reality it's closer to sunset. Starting In November through April, the sun sets around 5-6. The park workers occasionally come around and start closing the bathrooms, which is typically the sign of a park closing. If you want to stay a bit longer, you can though. Especially in the late Spring, Summer and Fall.
