Chip, we torque lug nuts to factory specification. We haven't seen you since 2009? I'm not sure what you're driving but some fords out there have a tendency to be very difficult to remove, regardless of their original torque. To Robert. We have never seen you here and have no recollection of you as a customer. Maybe these troubles happened elsewhere but by mentioning it here, it insinuates that it happened here. Wherever, at least you were taken care of.
While I am glad that one of the responders got good service I do not understand the suggestion that I should take this privately. Why should I make this a private question when they won't even respond publicly about it? I am so sick and tired of these companies using air tools to tighten down lug nuts so tight that in an emergency it is impossible to take them off by tools provided, what are we supposed to do if we're stuck out on some back roads, don't have cell phone service in the middle of the night? That could be potentially dangerous, what if it happened in the winter time during sub freezing temperatures? I mean we are supposed to be able to change a tire in an emergency that's why they put spare tires and jacks in new vehicles. But they do no good if the lug nuts are torqued down so much that you cannot remove them manually.
That's really bad, they should have checked the settings on that impact wrench, you should be able to just use a breaker bar to brake your lug nuts with just a fair amount of pressure, that happend to me, I made them put all new studs on the rear, next time watch them and don't be afraid to ask questions
I'm a very satisfied customer of Dayton Tire on Sherman. I suggest that you ask them your questions directly. I've never had a problem with them. They just replaced an axel on a truck for me quickly and at an excellent price.
