I was there a few days ago. I would suggest to follow the black pipe. Don't stray from that. This was the hardest place to find. We took a wrong turn and spent an extra 2 hours going up a open trail. You need to cross the stream 3x.
It took me an hour with a few stops along the way. Pretty much straight until the path splits, then you go left with a short uphill climb for about 4 minutes. The small pools are on the left.
All turns to the left. Except one. Follow the black water pipes, and ask the passing people on their way down
There's a hidden left turn by a tree. Once you get to a spot where there are a lot of signs, look for a trail going down to the river just after a tree (on your left). It can be hard to see without having passed it, so check behind you. The trail goes down to the creek and then up the hill on the other side, and that's where the pools are.
