You need to return your old battery regardless as it is considered hazardous waste. They charge you extra if you don't. A good new battery these days is between $100 to $200 depending on your needs. Some batteries have 1 year warranty (less money). Some have 5 year warranty (more exspensive). If your existing Interstate battery is within the warranty period from when you purchased it then they will determine how much credit they will give you for a replacement battery. Hope this helps.
