Customers renewing their license or non-driver ID card have the option to verify their identity through the Real ID Program. Customers verifying will get a gold star on the ID card. Those declining will have one stamped "Not for Federal Identification." Additional information on the REAL ID Program can be found here: http://www.ct.gov/dmv/lib/dmv/selectct/selectid_accpt_docs3.pdf
Requirements are on AAA website. In October to be verified,..You will also need proof of name changes throughout your life. First is when born, marriage certificate, divorce decree between marriages to prove name changes, and any other name changes with proof of how they occured. For now you need a utility bill statement with your name on it, social security card, old license, passport if you have one, a bill showing residence within last two months, etc. A billing/bank Statement printed from the internet is acceptable as they know many households are paperless. Big Brother has taken over as a result of Homeland Security act which requires undeniable proof of who you are.
