Keep your dog on a leash so it doesn't harass the wildlife!
There are sandpiper nesting areas this time of year that can restrict your hiking. But we have a dog and just deal with it. Use a long leash.
Dogs are allowed in the beaches during the off season. I think as long as you stick to the trails you can walk them year round.
