I'm in an abusive relationship and need to give up my cats so I can leave. How do I do this?

I have 2. All of my family and friends are at least an hour away and I'm trying to get my son and myself out of our situation as soon as I can and I have no way to take them with me or get someone else to take them.

You can call PAWS to surrender the animals, but it may take a while. Have you tried reaching out to friends or family to see if they would take the cats? How many do you have?
