That's the state park business, not Weeki Wachee kayak company! This company was fantastic when I used them. Drive us down to Tigers park out the kayaks in the water for us and sent us on our way. When we came back after going up river and then floating down river, they were there to pick us up at the same spot, load out great and drive us back to our car. Fantastic day! No timeline or fingers like other companies. Laid back
So, bow the kayak journey is half of what it used to be. We used to get out at Roger’s Park, and it was a nice, full day in which we usually saw manatees. Now they limit it to a 2 hour or less paddle. You get out right around the end of the state park and throughout the state park, it says no swimming. Today 8/28/21. The lady working where we checked out the kayaks was extremely rude. I had a sick child but all she could do was threaten us in an angry voice for around 15 minutes or so about how we will get charged $50 per boat if we’re late and that we’d better listen to her else and if we didn’t get down there in 4 minutes, we couldn’t launch. I brought my friends who were visiting from Nevada and it was embarrassing to show such rudeness as a welcome to Florida. With all the angry ranting nothing was mentioned about getting out miles before Rogers Park. Then they lied when we got out saying that’s been happening since Oct 2020…We went in 2021 and got out at Rogers park and Ubered. .
We get to Roger's Park, and then my wife stays with the boards while I uber back to the car and come pick the wife and boards up at the park. Quick and easy.
Yeah we used them all the time. Great people and you could have rental for the day. The park is what ruined that. They stopped allowing the company to shuttle us up their and take off from the stop of the spring and head down stream. Haven’t been back since because I don’t want to rent from the park since they technically out the other company out of business by doing this.
