Tickets are cheaper online than buying when you get there. I would absolutely recommend the annual pass though. One time visit is $18-23 and the annual pass is only $25/year and gives you a 20% discount on merch and food. You also get invitations to members only events and get to bring friends for free several times a year.
Go for the Annual pass of there's ANY chance you will go a second time in a year. Which is really easy to do. I'm a 3rd year Annual pass holder, and we've never regretted the purchases.
The best discount is when you buy tickets online. The annual pass is the best deal too. For a few dollars more you can take the family multiple times a year!
