They never answer, literally. We were just there and did not have a reservation, and even those with reservations still waited over an hour. Checking in for your reservation only puts you on the list and then you get a text to come back. T-Rex is part of Landry's dining, so we got a Landry's select club membership online. It's $25 but you get it back to spend and it helped us jump the line a bit. They quoted an hour (maybe 90 minutes) and we were seated in under 40. Not the answer I'm sure you were hoping for, but hopefully it might help a little.
I also suggest getting the Landry's select card. It costs $25.00, but you get that back on your next meal, or IF you purchase it before you go you can use it at that time. We've never waited longer than 20 minutes by using the card. You also get $25.00 for birthdays. It is definitely worth it.
When we were there we did our reservations on site and we waited about 30 or 40 minutes. We had a party of 6. Food and service was worth waiting for. Nice environment.
When I called, I was on hold for awhile (put the call on speaker and cooked dinner) but they finally picked up. We had a party of 17 so we desperately needed reservations. We just went this past Tuesday and they immediately sat us...no waiting at all!!
We walked in, sat down and are. Party of 4.
