Does anyone know why they have such insanely high prices for such basic services? How have they not been shut down for legit scams. Like marking brake pads up 300% in price. Thats called robbery.

I got an insanely high price just to change my head gasket for like $3,000 plus but it's because they're professionals and you get a guarantee if something goes wrong other places don't give you a guarantee and you can't bring it back but yes go to several places first and get estimates and go with the best price but they might not have a guarantee well you can bring it back and they'll fix it for free

That's the reason you get quotes from several places first. Regardless, in most chain shops the mechanics get commissions from parts. Some are horribly dishonest, but the people at this particular Firestone have been good to me.
