The channel is marked, but there are mud flats on either side. If you're coming north under the route 6 bridge, aim straight for the middle of the boat yard and you should be fine. South of the bridge, the channel is tight with some huge rocks on the west side of it.
The route is marked but at low tide you'll have to become familiar with the channel. Benefit is that the bottom is mostly sand and silt. The pond has a strong weed growth so at low tides stay more towards center, again a learning process.
Not exactly sure about the pond...I know the river is "Red, Right, Returning". Keep the red buoys on your right. The pond does have some hazards. Depending on the tide, there are a few shallows to avoid.
