It can be done once u will be there.
There are different companies that are outside of Disney that you can order from, it was recommended to do it 24 hours before you needed it. But we just got Ours once we entered into the park.
They do run out of electric scooters, so either get one early in the morning, or reserve one from an outside rental place and have it delivered to you the night before. You can not reserve the Disney scooters.

They are really good about this but yes you should call or use the website to get one and as much advance as needed if you have problems while you're there they will bring you another one have a magical time
Always good to call, and of course try and make it as early as possible, but everything should work out Magically!
Get there early because they run out fast, if possible bring your own.
Im sure you can hire one just inside the entrance
In theory you could get one when you arrive, but there was non available when we were there. Also we were told that rent would be $70 if there would be any.
You don't need a reservation it's $75 A-day
Call Scooterbug. They will deliver to your hotel. And you keep it for your entire trip. If you rent from the park you have to return it at the end of the day.

They are first come first serve. I would suggest if you need to reserve one getting it from a third party.
You can do it one you get here. I'm not sure about the price but you can also rent from 3rd party companies I've heard of one called lake Buena Vista rentals but Im not sure .
