I believe you can use what is fallen but not to cut down anything. But always ask when entering the park.

I brought wood that i cut in Derry. They didnt have a problem with it. They allow you to cut wood there but no chain saws. Ask at the registration desk to be sure

Harvesting wood in a State or National park requires a permit.

Most people buy local wood or because it's a state park Bear Brook will sell firewood there that they know is disease-free. As far as gathering wood around your camp area I'm not sure what the park policy is on that. Different counties also have different rules. Some only allow New Hampshire firewood. Some only allow firewood from that particular County or even town. I've run into that camping in state parks further north. They wouldn't allow wood from Merrimack County where I live to be taken into the campgrounds up in Pittsburgh.
