If you are worried about wild animals you shouldn’t go anywhere outside of your car. Bring a shotgun? Really?
There are plenty of wild animals, but nothing dangerous. They tend to stay away from populated areas unless they are desperate for food. Do not leave trash out overnight, store it in your car. Weapons are not allowed on the campground.
