I would go by owners manual in most situations. Extraordinary circumstances may require more frequent services. What falls into this category for me is if the vehicle is used cimmercially. Some will argue that florida has excessive heat, thus more frequent oil changes, or coolant flushing. Its great advice to follow the owners manual in most circumstances. Often times dealerships will recommend services not in the manual. When that happens i would research online what it is they are recommrnding, and get a second or even a third opinion if its big ticket items.
