99 cents is a sale price. The 50% is off the marked price. Color coded sale prices do not apply on these sale days.
Actually, every Monday a certain color is discounted at .99 when the color tag has been on the sales floor for over 4 weeks. However, on Special Holidays the store does a special sale which is the entire store is 50% off no matter what color tag it is, or how long a tag has been on the sales floor.
