What is needed to receive help with food for myself and son? Just lost my job and I'm due for delivery in 7 weeks, currently waiting for the new week to begin for me to contact WIC.

You.can receive food once a month from them just walk in monday through Friday before 12:30

If you want food like groceries to cook at home you need a voucher through social services at the Department of Children and Families. However, if you just need a meal like today, then feel free to pop by I think as early as 11am ish or so and walk in... Lots of lunches, hot food sometimes you can get seconds. I've eaten there a few times and the food is decent. You won't leave there with a hungry belly

There is anfood bank (once a month) on MLK at CCMI. Google the address. You need your id and id (social security card or birth certificate) for all in house. Also apply for emergency food stamps. There are plenty of food banks around town..just google them to.see addresses and times/days.
