Panning is enjoyable, you may find a small plaicier nugget about the size of a pinhead. It may take a few pans. You are not going to get rich doing it. It is a relaxing place with a museum and a film to watch, take a lunch.
There is no guarantee of finding any gold even after panning all day. The mine is off limits to any type of panning or active mining for safety and stability reasons.
My son got flakes and was the happiest kid in the world! Even finding a little at any age is excilerating!
A morsel
This isn't an "active" gold mine! This is a museum and you're only allowed to "pan" with around $3 and a guide/ instructor. Not allowed to go anywhere on own to mine or pan. And you may have a 1 in 6 chance to find a flake, speck, or tiny tiny nugget.
I want to go in to the mine and pan
A few small specks.
