Can we get off the train and spend some time in Fort Bragg or is it an immediate turn around on the train?

There are two trips - the one out of Willits turns around at Crowley, and the one out of Fort Bragg turns around at Glen Blair. There’s a tunnel closure, so no trip from Willits to Fort Bragg at this time.

The train departs from Fort Bragg and returns to Fort Bragg, so you'd have plenty of time before and after the ride to enjoy the town. Call the depot for more info on the ride itself. It's a reasonably short scenic ride, not a commuter ride.

There is seasonal mushroom picking train, with a picnic stop for an hour or so where you get off the train to pick mushrooms and have a bite.

No your not able to get off the train on the short trip now on the long one from willits to fort brag or from brag to willits you can book venues where you are able to at certain destinations
