They check if the picture on the card matches with the person who is checking out, then he has to have his own card with his picture on it.
If he is included in your membership, then he should have his own card & all the privileges that come with it.
They will take his picture and give him his own card. He can't use yours.
They will likely make him get his own card. They probably won't notice until checkout.
My advice is to get him his own card, but if you guys have the same name, Costco has let me do that once or twice. They will prbly encourage him to get his own card next time. [That is the same as me and my mom].
My experience is that they prefer each individual to have their own card; while it is perfectly possible to have him use yours, it'll be more hassle than it's worth. I'm speaking from "his" point of view as I don't have my own card, but rather I'm registered on the cards of multiple individuals who's name I DON'T share. They almost never notice until check out forcing you to leave the line & visit customer service b4 getting in line AGAIN! & it can be even worse on a bad day. If he doesn't bring & use your card they will catch it when he enters causing either for them to turn him away outright (I've had to call, complain & wait outside for a manager to resolve it), or go directly to customer service for a temporary card which some stores not longer do. If he uses your card it can be just as fustrating to him while @ the same time denying you access to your permanent card while it's in his possession. In fact the only reason I haven't gotten my own is that I don't use their stores often
