Mackay y park is not very close to Sky Park but a picnic there would be fine. Nice views and playgrounds for kids.

Like Cory says, it can get very windy up there and there are only a few tables. You would only be ten minutes from Skypark.
There were a few tables last time I was there, but i would not recommend rehearsal dinner as its very dusty and the wind can pick up at times.
