No you can't swim there but it's really beautiful and everyone should see it once. This is where ancient explorers and Indians have been getting fresh water for thousands of years. You can put your feet in there it's kind of small not much larger than a big hot tub. If you're looking to swim I would recommend Cypress Point Park or Picnic Island Park. I know for a fact they're both open and there's a lot of ability to distance there. I also recommend Weedon Island Preserve in Pinellas county for exploring
I've gone in the water but I wouldn't sit and soak my body in there!!
