We went and had a teenager under 17 with us, but because we were meeting them, I'd gone and purchased the tickets beforehand... She was able to see 'It' with us and we had no problems

It's dependent on how old you are. So the person above mentioned a 17 year old. She most likely was able to purchase them because she looks old enough. But if you're an underclass man, or you look younger than you are, you may not be able to get in.
