The zoo is open, here are the hours avail on their website: Open Wednesday - Sunday, 10 am to 4:30 pm (last entrance at 4 pm) http://www.mgzoo.com/zoo/micke-grove/default.htm The Japanese garden is an area often reserved and is closed to the public at 12 or 1 pm daily, so definitely go early during the week.
