Yes simple answer is yes. I lost a few teeth some years ago in an accident and because of my age (over 50) I thought that getting implants would be a waste of time – who was I going to impress? But then I realized that without implants, eating was more difficult, speaking clearly was more difficult than it used to be and that the stress on the remaining teeth increased. I went to a dentist who told me that the health aspects of getting a dental implant were as important as the cosmetic one. I had the implants and have never regretted the decision.
