It really depends on who you're there to see. I've gotten there at 6pm and had my choice of seats, also got there at 630 and the front 2 rows were full, but those weren't the seats we wanted, so I still had my choice of seats. For me it's worth it to get there at 6, ensure I get what I want, then go somewhere for 90 minutes.

Larry is right. Depending on the artist. Sometimes you'll find a group of 5 sitting out there as early as 10 a.m. but the rest of the crowd shows up to get in line a little before 6.

Usually they open will call at 6p for an 8p show. Depending on the popularity, people will start lining up briefly before 6. You will have to use your own judgment.
