No reservations are necessary, but expect a wait at peak times. There is also a non hibachi area on the first floor that has regular tables. That area is usually not too busy. That's where I take my son because the service is always faster. I am referring to the Benihana on Kennedy Causeway. I'm not sure if other locations have the same settings.
You don't need to make reservation, can only walk in, but on busy time is recommended if you don't like to be waiting to be seated.
