Baptism is a reflection of your covenant with God as a believer. Baptism in and of itself does not save you. Your accepting Christ gives you a new spiritual life.
Baptism is your body being dipped in the water to wash away your sins as you embrace your new life and journey as a Christian (being born again). But first, before Baptism you must in your heart accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior.
