Best ways are to purchase tickets using AMC app which lets you select your seats before paying. (IMAX and Dolby Theater only). Other option is to use the ATOM app which also allows seat selection. I prefer Dolby theater with cushioned reclining seats.
Reserving seats are only for IMAX or dolby rooms in this the was theater online or in person. Otherwise normal rooms are just first come first serve.
