It usually is 5 days before showing, or earlier of it's a movie that will have special showings.
It really depends on the movie. I have been able to reserve a movie on the AMC website up to two weeks in advance. But not every movie is available this way. Take Aquaman for example I can make a reservation for January 2nd 2019 today.
