Our first bottle of BV as a couple in 1982 was a 1978 Georges De Latour PR cab. We have been enjoying PR ever since. Recently my wife gifted me a 1978 GDL PR cab. Does it stand up to 40 yrs? Do we open it? Do we test it first?

Hi Tom! What an amazing gift to give. The GDL PR cabs are known for historically being one of the most age-worthy cabernet sauvignons in Napa Valley. It should be tasting amazing right now.
