Cans are the way to go. They preserve beer much better than glass. Even with dark brown bottles, you would still get some skunking with time.

Cans are cheaper for the smaller co.'s yo mass market their product, on limited scale. Plus with the linings of the cans its nicer to the nectar in side them. So I've been told. I myself will NOT buy beer in a can. For crying out loud. Just fill my stream with beer already, stop using cans. Great beers deserve to be poured out of a chilled bottle into a frozen glass

It's a cost production thing and also a recycling thing I think. Cans keep getting more and more popular.
