Update Dec 2017: Kohl's Staff at the Petaluma Store said the store will reopen in March 2018! Driving by in late October, clean up crews were removing all soft lines (clothes, linens) from the the store. The building was not structurally damaged, but before the power went out at the time of the fire, it seems the HVAC system brought in smoke, and irreversibly damaged all stock. Clearly, they are working hard to get the store reopened as fast as humanly possible. The once (locally) famous Kmart, nearby, won't be so lucky!
Why are people saying it burnt down, obviously without checking to see first? It's still standing and they are working on reopening. Please don't spread misinformation. If you don't know for sure, don't answer

Its not burt down trust me it's still there I drove by there the other day to see if it was still there I don't know why people are saying it's gone it's not 😑
I just drove by on Friday October 13 and it did not burn down it is still standing, it is in an evacuation zone so no one there and it is closed for now.

I was told the kohls is still there but the restaurants surrounding it are gone. Most news reports are not saying it was burned when talking about the area.
