Just holding and meditating on what you would like the crystal to do is perfect. Or you can put it in a dish with your intention on a paper and burn it on a new or full moon with the crystal on top of it. Cleansing can be done with a full moon or the sun depending on the type of crystal or stone. You can also use salt water from the sea, bust some crystals like selenite are soft and will melt in water. You can also use selenite slabs or wands to set crystals on to cleanse them.
