We just moved to Spokane from out of state and my DL expires in Dec, What do we need to do to get a new license issue before it expires and update our auto plates and registration to WA or do we just leave them in the previous state for now?

Go to dol.wa.gov, get your first license, pre-application. That will get you a pre-application license number you can use to make an appointment. As of mid-July waiting list is a month long. This should improve, but remember you are supposed to get a driver's license and register in 30 (?) days.
