When selling a vehicle all u do is mail in the title. It has all info listed on the back of it. If you wanna register or change address AAA can help yes smog is needed.

AAA can help with vehicle title transfers. The seller is responsible for getting a smog check before a vehicle is sold. A smog check is good for 60 days from when it was done. A smog check is not required if you change your name on a vehicle title, only when its changed to another persons name.
