You could add bleach once a week to keep it unclogged, otherwise use a "snake" or cleanup valve near the mainline for easier work. Obviously you should not dump food scraos or cooking grease down the drain especially coffee grounds...
Drano works pretty well if not you will probably half to remove the trap . Clean it out and replace. Works foe me.
