If you have children you go to the dta office. But for single woman there isn't really any shelters. As I was told when I was looking; I'd be better off trying to stay with family.
There are shelters in Massachusetts. Boston has Woodsmullen shelter for women and Rosies Place. check them out you will be fine. Just to add a bit more Rosies has a lottery and a time limit but more to offer but all is in your mind set of getting on your feet
The number of shelters has reduced somewhat after losing Salvation Army's Harbor Lights (Eva Booth House) and Sancta Maria House. The options are not great outside of Rosie's Place if you are lucky enough to get the library. Pine Street Inn, Woods Mullen can be scary for those never grew up on the streets, I never stayed there when I was homeless because of what I heard about them. Same goes for St. Francis on Boylston. A new shelter opened up some time ago in the New Market district off of Mass Avenue you have to walk east past Boston Medical Center in to where all of these produce businesses are on the left. There are homeless shelters in Cambeidge if you can get a bus out to Central Square, there is a shelter that picks up at a multi service place on Green Street side I want to say Prospect Street. Rosie's Place and Women's Lunch Place can give you a list of resources and referrals for shelters. If you are working, I would suggest checking out hostels in Everett north of Boston
Woods Mullen sheltet
Tammie cook look into the B.E.S.T team at BMC.
Woods Mullen Is a dangerous place I was just there the other night trying to escape the domestic abuse situation and I got assaulted and ended up in the hospital do not go there if this is your situation. You’re better off going with father Bill’s or mainspring. But it depends on your address too. It sucks I know. When I get back on my feet, I want to open up a woman shelter for domestic abuse. We seem to have a dire need in the state
Rosies place is great go through to get in but offering others things as well good luck and be blessed
Yes you will be
I agree most of them have a time limit on how long you can spend there. You may need to get some help at DTA to get long-term placement in a shelter.
