Jimmy's Sod suggested their St. Augustine's "Sun and Shade" variety for my lawn which is shaded by an Oak Tree.
St Augustine is about the best that will grow under a oaktree
I agree with the previous recommendation. There are different kinds of grass and they all love the sun but St. Augustine seems to tolerate the shade a bit more. If in doubt consult with a Sod specialist, they will give you the right guidance.
Bitterblue St. Augustine is good for shaded areas and it can make your yard look good if you take care of it.
