How long does it get approved to buy a gun at a gun store or do you hve to already have your gun license?

My background ultimately came back as on determined so big five sports would not issue me the shotgun I was trying to purchase does anyone know a dealer who will in these cases I have no negative criminal background and all the other stuff that would typically disqualify somebody ? I’m told many do but I just don’t know how to find those dealers, I live in Napa so looking for a dealer somewhere not too far ?
