Real ID, Firearm Safety Certification, background check, utility bill for proof of residency, Last but not least wait 10 days after purchase to take gun home. If you don’t have the real ID yet, make sure to bring birth certificate.
There's a gun safety booklet and corresponding test which you have to pass. Go to Turner's and they'll give you the booklet.
Talk to someone behind the gun counter. California drivers license or ID with current address, firearms safety card (test done at Turner's) and 2nd proof of residency if buying a handgun.
Don't forget bring in proof of residency, rental agreement, car registration or utility bills
