I would say to go to any jewelry store and get it done there instead. They usually want $10 or so to do it. I'd trust a real jewelry store far more than some uncaring Walmart employee.
I'm sorry you went thru that. Try reporting it next time it happens because that's not ok. It's happened to me many times because I'm black and I had to report it. You might have people fired but they need to do their job and not be descriminative against the color of people's skin.
