Why bother ? It's not like you are making a difference on the planet . It's better if you kill the pig , cow or other animals yourself . Zero waste like the Native America's . Oh wait , you're just doing it for " attention " my bad .
Call the store.. You can opt for meat wrapped in paper instead of plastic.
My understanding is you have contact the FDA directly and get an approved container from them.
No, the FDA has placed Strict health standards and regulations that require the general public does not come in contact with any public food or contamination from unclean food containers.
You can bring your own containers for products sold at Whole Foods. Know the weights of the containers to provide that info at the registers so you're not paying for the container weight plus that of what's inside.
I dont h Think they will let you on meat products you will have to call. There are safty / legal issues with that but its always worth asking ...
I would call the Clearwater store if you are close k to that one & ask. I believe they can wrap it in paper as a better option for you. If I am correct it would be cross contamination for you to use your own.
It's best to call them because it's to my understanding that most Stores also have the option to rapid in paper instead of plastic but they may not condone Using a customer's own container.
I'd say call and ask too, but you could also ask for the meat to be wrapped in paper with no plastic.
I actually read up on it and it seems different people get different results. From what I've read, health codes prohibit the use of containers, however some Whole Foods locations were happy to accommodate their customers. Your best bet would be to call and ask before you go through the trouble.
