Am I better off renting equipment to try crabbing here, or should I just stop at Walmart for a ring net and some bait? Would just be looking to catch enough for my own dinner!

Rent it unless you are planning on using it more than twice

Renting would be best if you don't go crabbing all the time. The crab pots on the pier aren't that expensive or bulky.

You can probably rent the crab net but not sure and you might want to grap a couple of chicken legs for bait they only have chicken necks at the bait shop.

Better to rent if you don't want to keep any of the bulky equipment
