Welcome to Florida! Both of our dogs starting itching after we moved here. They're (Lillie pug) and Bentley (Boston Terrier) are on a grain-free dry food. Lillie went on Apoquel 2yrs ago and it helps her tremendously! I don't want to start Bentley on it but he's itching. The "chinch bugs" are the culprit I believe and very hard to control. Ask your pest guy to spray for fleas, ticks & these invisible pests! Good luck. Apoquel is by prescription only. My vet is Dr Kroll @ Viscaya-Prado Vet. Highly recommend! Btw, chicken is usually the #1 allergy.
I would imagine the vet would have to see why your dog is itching. Could be the food, allergy or underlying conditon or related to the breed of dog you have. They have a pet hosipital at petsmart. See if you could make an appt. To get your pet evaluated.
