I love Kyle and Holiday and am also sorry to see them go. Many of us who have been around for a few decades just assumed that Kyle would take over as senior pastor when Kenton leaves next year. However, Mariners has always been a church that believes the board of Elders should decide the future of the church. As Kenton read the letter from the board at the end of last week's service, one could hear the pain in his voice. The board (search committee) had decided not to select Kyle to replace Kenton. As a result, Kyle and Holiday made the decision to move on. They will be greatly missed and our prayers for the Lord's guidance will be with them. As well, we trust the selection committee will be obedient to God's voice as the selection process continues. Our prayers are with them.
