Do animals have to have dog tags?

We've never been asked to show any tags or licensing for a pet when we brought them but they do get on you about having them on a leash. And even more so it's typically other guests that whine if you don't have your dog on a leash

I'm sure as long as your dog is on a leash and not being a nuisance you won't be asked.

I'm not sure if they have to have dog tags I have never been asked about dog tags for our dogs but I do know that you are supposed to keep your dogs on a leash at all times.

I have never been asked for one when I have taken my dog.
